When You Can Work Over Old PMU

In many cases, it's possible to work over old permanent makeup — especially if the existing pigment has faded significantly and hasn't changed to an unusual color. If your old brows are light, soft, and still within a natural brown or taupe range, Cynthia may be able to work over them with nano brows or powder brows to refresh and redefine the shape.

The pigment has shifted color

Old permanent makeup — especially microblading done with certain pigments — can shift to blue, grey, green, or orange tones over time. If your brows have taken on any of these undertones, working new pigment over them will not fully cover the discoloration. The old color will show through and affect the final result. The shape needs significant correction

If the existing brow shape is significantly different from what you want — wrong arch placement, too thick, too low, or asymmetrical in a way that can't be corrected by adding — removal is the better path. The pigment is still very saturated
